Time for the Companion mobile upgrade! Notice that instead of a new battery (or was it a SIM card? I need to watch that one again...) her mobile gets a once-over with the sonic screwdriver. I love Doctor Who continuity (also known as "Who needs it?" :D). Different cell phone, different method of rigging it in, I suppose. Or something. *grin*
And now we see the end result. I mostly capped this for my geeky friends who like to put this sort of thing as the backgrounds on their
mobiles. But it's roaming - I hope her carrier doesn't activate extra charges for that. I know Sprint would charge me an arm and a leg for roaming from thousands of years in the future and parsecs off the network...
And now we meet... THE ENEMY! DUN DUN DUN. That sun has a rascally look about it. NO! Don't make eye contact! IT WILL KNOW.
Mostly included this as proof that there were other people in the episode. Sadly, eps that are almost exclusively from the interior of a spaceship are rather dull when it comes to screencapping. The episode itself? Enjoyable, though not my fave of the series (it reeked of The Impossible Planet
and The Satan Pit
, honestly). Mmm.
I had to include this. Obviously. I love "classical" music. Bahah.
OH MY GOD, CYCLOPS! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
I loved the steam-death. I just had to capture it.Are you my mummy?
Oh, wait a sec.... Anyway, masks are categorically creepy. So it gets included.
The Doctor: I'VE GOT YOUR GLUCOSE METRE, DID YOU WANT IT?
Martha: I HAVE LOW BLOOD SUGAR!
The Doctor: I HAVE YOUR GLUCOSE METRE, DID YOU - oh, sod it, you're going to fry anyway.
The Doctor is realising right about now that his spacesuit does not
have a waste-removal system, so he's going to be sloshing about for the next few minutes. Whoops. There's a place for us... somewhere, a place for us... take my hand and we're halfway there...
or should they be singing Walking on the Sun
?"I looked into the TARDIS and the TARDIS looked into me."
No, wait, I'm confusing my episodes again
Smoochy smoochy! How cute. And good job, Martha.
That's a hurt look. Teeeeeension. She kisses some other bloke and she's not fully his, is she? Oh, Doctor. Won't let her get close but doesn't want her to have her fun with anyone else. Conflict!
Here's a key! To my hearts
. Or maybe it's just for the TARDIS. Who can say? Only one way to find out. Go on, pull his shirt open and check.
Dun Dun dunnnnnnn
. Oh Martha's mum, I like you. I don't like you, but I like that you're not Jackie - that you're not just distrustful but willing to do
something about it.
So, in conclusion... overall, it was okay. Suppose we were about due for a spaceship one - I'm just glad it was only one
episode and not two like last season. I did like the idea of the sun in question being a living being. This ep was not one of my favourites, but oh well. Too bad I had to wait two weeks for this one. It makes me sad that this is the halfway point of the season already
. Where is it going? We need more Saxon and Face of Boe exposition, plz.
